Magical HISTORY Tour

Last night it was Ossining Historical Society Museum. Last week the venue was Scattered Books Bookstore in Chappaqua. I’m on a roll — meeting fans of history and avid readers in two of my haunts close to home.

THANK YOU to all friends and fans who joined me in celebrating my book launch last week. Sprits were high and poured, glasses were raised and the celebration began. We enjoyed a wide sampling of appetizers, desserts and beverages. The conversation flowed, as the guests mingled and browsed through one genre of books to another.

I met many new devotees of history, as well as friends and fans last night at the Ossining Historical Society Museum.  The museum is located in a Victorian style house (circa 1890) on Croton Avenue in Ossining. We gathered in the drawing room, surrounded by history – famous paintings of the area by famous painters, antique furniture, fine bone china and the bell from the train carrying the body of Abraham Lincoln through the Ossining Train Depot, back to its final resting place in Illinois.

I loved guiding the gathering on a magical tour through Ossining’s history with both old photographs and current pictures of the historic sights in town and regaling them with anecdotes from incidents in the past. If you missed it — don’t worry! The museum is planning several fall events and welcomes all visitors.
