Keeping My Distance…But Still Reaching Out!

Connecting with the ones I love.

By now we should all be used to social distancing. I am coping the best I can. I miss those little faces! So I connect via video whenever I can. I cannot dwell upon the thought that a video chat can’t replace the ecstasy of their hugs, little arms around my neck, sweet breath on my cheek…sigh…We have so much to catch up on when this is over.

I am reading my books to any kids who want a diversion. So contact me via any of my websites. I have books, and a video connection and I am ready to entertain. I found out others are reading my books too – thank you Jocelyn Collen! — Check it out, Jocelyn reads What More Can a Fairy Be?

We are all doing the best we can, in the hopes of saving many lives by keeping our lives distant. My real frustration? I think I had the virus, and hopefully have developed the antibodies. Can I use this to help anyone? NO. The test to prove that is not yet ready. But I am reaching out! I am participating in University of California, San Francisco’s COVID19 survey. And I am ready — I have an arm full of plasma I am ready to donate, just as soon as I get the go-ahead.

In the meantime…back to coping. Our family has celebrated two social distance birthdays. Both heartbreaking, each in its own way. But again, this is not the time to dwell on that aspect, or even remember it. Here are the positives: we got together and social distance celebrated.
